Host a Free Wonder Workshop
Community Research Begins Around a Table
Hosting a wonder workshop is easy and completely free for community organizations. You provide a welcoming space and bring the group together. We take care of every other detail, from planning to facilitation. Each workshop also contributes to the public research at the heart of The Wonder Lab which explores a serious question: can experiences of wonder and awe, combined with a healthy dose of creativity, help people feel better and more connected?
What we learn will help organizations create programs that are more effective and alive with possibility. This work is central to our larger goal of making social prescribing accessible to everyone by giving community and health partners practical ways to create engaging experiences that better meet people’s needs, support wellbeing, strengthen connection and help them feel more fully alive.
Beyond the Ordinary
Open the Door, We’ll Bring the Wonder
Magic is all around us. It hides in a flavour we cannot name, a question we cannot answer, something unexpected taking shape in our hands and the sudden laughter of people gathered around a table. Most days, we hurry straight past it.
The Wonder Lab helps people find it again through community wonder workshops. We arrive with curious objects, unexpected tastes and scents, creative experiments, impossible questions and hands-on challenges. For a little while, the ordinary world slips away and something brighter takes its place.

Our Philosophy
Making Room for What Matters
We tend to think about wellbeing in terms of what we want less of: stress, loneliness, exhaustion and disconnection. Those things matter. But wellbeing has another side too: creating more of what makes life feel good, meaningful and worth looking forward to.
More curiosity, creativity, beauty, play and connection. More experiences that absorb us, surprise us and give us a sense of possibility. More moments that interrupt routine, pull our attention beyond the usual worries and remind us that life can still feel interesting and alive.
The Wonder Lab is especially interested in this side of wellbeing, and wonder is a powerful way into it. It wakes up our attention, opens us to new possibilities and makes the familiar feel fresh again. It can turn an ordinary moment into something we notice, remember and share, while making us more receptive to the beauty, fascination and connection that are easy to miss when life becomes repetitive or rushed.
Our workshops create space for those experiences, then give people simple ways to carry that mindset back into everyday life: noticing more, following their curiosity, savouring good moments, breaking familiar routines and creating more of what makes everyday life feel alive with possibility.
The Good Life Gap
Wonder Workshops
10,000 Hours Saved
We explore what makes life feel rich, what people want more of and what gets in the way, helping us better understand the experiences communities need more room for.
We create immersive community experiences that bring more curiosity, creativity, connection and wonder into everyday life, while giving people ways to carry those experiences with them.
We help community organizations find where staff time is being lost and identify practical ways to give more of that time back to people and work that matters.

Three Projects, One Shared Goal
The Good Life Gap
What’s Missing From Our Lives and What Can Bring It Back
Most of us are not in crisis. But a life can look full on paper without feeling rich from the inside. Busy schedules, low energy, tight budgets and endless demands on our attention can crowd out experiences of beauty, meaning, creativity, discovery and joy. These essential parts of wellbeing are rarely measured and too often treated as optional.
The Good Life Gap is a public research project investigating the distance between the lives people are living and the experiences they need to flourish. We're asking what makes life feel rich, what's missing or has become rare, who faces the greatest barriers and which small, accessible experiences make a meaningful difference. The findings will help community organizations design programs around what people genuinely value, need and can realistically access.

Social Prescribing
What if a prescription for feeling better included an hour spent making something alongside other people or exploring something strange, beautiful or completely unexpected?
Social prescribing recognizes that wellbeing isn’t supported only inside clinics. It also grows through creativity, connection and taking part in community life.
The Wonder Lab creates the kind of experience social prescribing can lead to: playful workshops filled with sensory surprises, creative experiments and shared discoveries. A small moment of wonder can lift the mood, quiet the everyday noise and make it easier to connect. Gather enough of those moments, and both life and community begin to feel much richer.
